It's a rock group for kids! They are
The Shimmyshakers and they're shaking their way onto the children's music scene! Come and shake your shimmys' when the band performs at the
Wasaga Beach Fest on Sunday August 26th from at 4pm and 6pm.
The Shimmys have a mission: To help ordinary people in everyday situations, solve their problems with songs!

Who are
The Shimmyshakers? On lead vocals and rhythm guitar is
Robbie David (Robbie Red), the bandleader with a most infectious personality and laugh. David co-writes the band's great sing-a-long lyrics with songwriter and musical director
Mitch Magonet (Mitch Kabibble). In the keyboard department we have
Jamie Elman (Jamie Jamm), a piano impresario with a knack for hip-hop. Last but not least is the band's
‘Girl-Power’ Adina Katz (Adina Sunshine), who is sure to brighten your day.
The Shimmyshakers are four talented Montrealers who have had a lifetime of singing and playing together, and share the common goal of creating great
‘Shimmytastic’ music.

Their debut album
‘Ooey Gooey’ is now available on their website! All 15 tracks are guaranteed to get your Toes Tappin’ and Shimmys’ Shakin’. They also teach us some of the simpler lessons in life, like crossing a road, or appreciating other cultures. From the Celtic Inspired
What's In a Name, to the Afro-pop
BaZiqhenya, the music of
The Shimmyshakers is targeted towards kids from pre-school to grade school, but reaches a far wider audience.
The Shimmyshakers' ‘Ooey Gooey’ is self distributed, and the album is available for sale on their website, as well as
iTunes,
CDBaby.com and selected kid's retailers.

A series of live concerts are being planned for summer 2007, while creators Robbie David, Mitch Magonet, and Kevin Saffer work to bring
The Shimmyshakers to children's television.
